Privacy policy
We Should Talk More works without an account, and most of what you do in it stays on your phone. Only an account and the cards you share to the community go to our servers.

What stays on your device
The following data is stored only on your phone and never sent to us: your saved cards, cards you create but don't share, your queue, which cards you've already seen, and the notes and reflections you write in "Just me". Deleting the app deletes this data. We cannot see or restore it.
What we store when you create an account
| Data | Why | Kept until |
|---|---|---|
| Email address, or the ID from Sign in with Apple or Google | To sign you in and reset your password | You delete your account |
| Username | Shown as "by @name" on cards you share | You delete your account |
| Cards you share to the community (text, language, who it's for, follow-up) | To show them to other users | You delete the card or your account |
| Which community cards you liked | To count likes and stop double likes | You delete your account |
| Reports you send about a card, with the reason | To moderate the community | Up to 12 months after the case is closed |
If you use Sign in with Apple and hide your email, we only receive Apple's relay address.
Legal basis (EU and UK users)
We process account and community data to provide the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We process reports and blocks to keep the community safe, which is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Service providers
We use Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) to run accounts and the community. Google processes this data on our behalf under its data processing terms. The database is stored in the EU (Firestore multi-region eur3, data centres in Belgium and the Netherlands). Some processing by Google may take place outside the EU, covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google are provided by Apple and Google under their own privacy policies.
The app's fonts are bundled in the app. This website loads its font from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when you open a page.
We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking tools, and we do not sell or share your data.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account in the app under Settings → your account → Delete account. This removes your sign-in, your username and every card you shared. If you used Sign in with Apple, we also revoke the app's access to your Apple ID.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction, deletion or a copy of your data, object to processing, or restrict it. Write to [email protected]. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example in the country where you live.
Children
The app is not meant for children under 13 (under 16 in the EU unless a parent consents). Community features need an account, and we do not knowingly create accounts for children.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
